305 - All Request

Chill Out

1. Chill Out
I know winter is pretty much over now, but this has been sitting in my "to-list" box for quite a while now. It a pretty interesting report about the birth of the wind-chill factor, hw it is totally bogus, and why we should stop talking about it.

The Great Pop vs. Soda Controversy

3. The Great Pop vs. Soda Controversy
One thing I hate is when people look at old photos and laugh about the hairstyles and clothes they used to wear. Another is when people argue about what to call a sugary, carbonated, soft drink. If you want to avoid this type of discussion it looks like you should move to North Dakota, Montana or the southwest, where there seems to be the smallest amount of cross-over.

Planned Squares

Another one of these damn games that looks like it should be easy, but is actually pretty difficult.

Correlation Does Not Neccessarily Imply Causation

5. Correlation Does Not Neccessarily Imply Causation
It seems likely that Debbie Bird really does have some kind of allergy, but her conclusion that electromagnetic fields, microwaves, and gamma rays seems pretty far fetched. Unsurprisingly, "doctors say there is little scientific evidence to back up a link between EMF and poor health" and smart commenters on the article have suggested means of determining the cause of her condition.
