398 - Yearbook

1. Student Body
Old-Yearbooks.com is a pretty awesome resource. Collectors can use it to find vintage yearbooks for sale. Long lost ffriends can find their old classmates. Researchers can track down geneological information. I just like to look at the old timey pictures.

2. No Commoner Carries Such Weapons, Unless His Appearance, and His Beauty, Are Both Lies.
he school didn't think it would be appropriate to include weaponry in it's yearbook. The kid just wants to promote his involvement in the Society for Creative Anachronism. Like most of these types of news stories, updates are hard to find. Anyone with news on the outcome, please leave a comment.

3. Regrets and Mistakes
English teacher, and yearbook committe councelor, Amy McTague, was forced to make apologies for allowing photographs and stories of underage drinking and illegal drug use to appear in last year's Conifer High School yearbook. At least she didn't fuck any of them.

4. Celebrity Yearbook Photos
Ever wonder what televangelist, fraud and ciminal, Benny Hinn looked like when he was in high school?

5. Girl's School
And as a final bit of self promotion, I made these collages based on vintage yearbook photos. I think they look pretty good. They are available in my etsy shop.

214 - with Links!

Fraud

1. Fraud
It is being reported by a lot of websites and blogs that Sylvia Browne has been caught in another in an ever growing list of "psychic errors." In 2003, she calously reported that a recently missing boy, Shawn Hornbeck was dead. You probably have heard that Shawn was reunited with his family on January 13th.

Jungle Girl

2. Jungle Girl
The BBC is reporting on a "half-human and half-animal" Cambodian girl who has been living in the wild for the the past 19 years. The article is woefully lacking in details and seems sketchy for some reason.

Bass Diddley Bow and Gas Can Guitar

3. Bass Diddley Bow
I'm not entirely sure what The Ministry of Hope is all about, but damn, these are some talented kids playing awesome homemade instruments.

'Welcome Back

4. Welcome Back
When Lewis Hill returned home to East St. Lewis from vacation he was surprised to find that the city had demoloshed his home. Another unfortunately, sketchy article without a lot of information and absolutely no input from the city about their side of the story.

Internet Justice

5. Internet Justice
Be careful about what you say to people in internet chatrooms. Painting by Tim Nyberg.
