Lasik Again

1. Lasik Again
Studies show that having lasik surgery is actually safer than wearing contact lenses. So, if you are too vain to wear glasses, maybe you should consider taking the plunge.

Weird Scott

2. Weird Scott
I love mid-eighties homemade lip-synch videos, especially when they were made by people that I know.

Thorium

3.Thorium
Norwegian nuclear physicists have come up with a way to run reactors using the element thorium. The science is over my head, but it is reported to be a cleaner, safer, more efficient method than traditional nuclear energy production.

Lost City

4. Lost City
The remains of a recently discovered city underwater off the coast of India have been carbon dated to around 9000 BC, about 5000 years older than any know civilization. Of course much more research need to be done, but this discovery could totally screw up our ideas about human history.

The Nietzsche Family Circus

5. The Nietzsche Family Circus
"The most common lie is that which one lies to himself; lying to others is relatively an exception."

103 - Research

Telephone Telepathy

1. Telephone Telepathy
The media has run with this story about a scientist proving that people can predict the caller when the telephone rings. In fact, Rupert Sheldrake's experiment is nothing more than a 1 in 4 guessing game and his hit rate of 45% is meaningless when using a small sample group of only 63 people.

Lab Rats

2. Lab Rats
Seeing some of these freaky animals can be disturbing without some background on the reasons why they were developed. I highly recommend listening to this Skepticality interview with Marc Zimmer which illuminates clearly why glow in the dark pigs are more than just really cool.

However

3. However
A chicken with four legs can be a bit disturbing, because it appeared randomly and we have no way of knowing why or how the extra legs appeared. Certainly it was a sort of mutation, but what caused that mutation to occur?

Cannibalisaur

4. Cannibalisaur
Based on petrified stomach contents, paleontologists have bee maligning the Coelophysis for decades, calling him a cannibal. New research shows that those contents were not other Coelophysis, but more likely crocodile.

Pale Blue Orb

5. Pale Blue Orb
An image transmitted by the Cassini deep space probe, shows us what the Earth looks like from within the rings of Saturn.

'Rock of Gibraltar

1. Rock of Gibraltar
A new paleontological find suggests that Neanderthal Man may have survived much longer than previously thought. Anyone thinking what I'm thinking?

Graffiti artist and advertiser, Moose, creates nondestructive street art by selectively cleaning the dirt and grime off city walls and streets. He's still getting hassled by the cops.

Fry That Chicken

3. Fry That Chicken
Ms. Peaches raps about making chicken. She also raps about taking a bath. She also may be a man. You hear me?

Teardrop trailers are so awesome! I'm going to sell everything I own, build a trailer, buy a fat motorcycle with a hitch on the back, and travel around the country living like a modern-day hobo.

Blast Off

5. Blast Off
While I'm on the road, I'm going to try to see every single muffler man left in America. I'll start with the Gemini Giant at The Launching Pad in beautiful Wilmington, Illinois.

'Titanosauria

1. Titanosauria
Not to be outdone by the Chinese, Brazilian paleontologists recently discovered a new species of giant dinosaur.

77-year-old man accused of using camera phone to peer up women's skirts at the Wal-marts.

Gear Head

3. Gear Head
Waste a few minutes rescuing pink.

The pro-guy suggests that advertisers pay google up to $70 per click for keywords relating to loan consolidation, insurance quotes, and DUI attorneys. If this is true, then google is seriously ripping me off.

Montague

5. Montague
Rounding things off with a short video of a cat climbing into and out of a glass bottle that reminds me of a story told by Ricky Jay.

World's Oldest Person: Dead 1. World's Oldest Person: Dead
Maria Esther de Capovilla died yesterday at age 116 in Ecuador, less than one month short of her 117th birthday. She was born the same year as Charlie Chaplin and Adolph Hitler. Both of those guys died ages ago.

Chinese stories are not as interesting as Japanese ones. The Chinese are just like regular humans, but a bit shorter. The Japanese are like magical, perverted, mythical creatures. Like pixies or leprechauns. If the Japanese found a new dinosaur, they'd probably put a pair of pink panties on it and put it on a crazy game show.

Degobah 3. Degobah
In case you aren't a big enough dork already, you could wear this backpack when school starts up again. Let the teasing and taunting deter you don't.

Just when I had you convinced that the Chinese were like regular humans, this Chinese lady screws it up by trying to teach her dog how to drive a car.

Stunt Show 5. Stunt Show
Except for that one where a cowboy shoots into the camera, and the one where an elephant get electrocuted, I haven't watched any Thomas Edison films. That is why I don't know if this is real or not. It looks pretty good, but I thought they would have still been riding those giant front wheel bikes in 1899.
