I think his central difficulty is less about rage and willful aggression and more a case of poor imulse control, as related to an executive functioning deficit, likely resulting either accute attention deficit-hyperactivity disorder or some sort of prefrontal cortical damage (hit on the head with a hunny pot, perhaps?).
