1. Power of the Dark Crystal If you can get through the bullshit advertising and flash animation on MTV.com, there is an interesting article about Brian Froud's involvement in the possibly ill-advised sequel to Jim Henson's masterpiece, The Dark Crystal.

2. Zodiac Before the release of David Fincher's Zodiac killer movie, you would do well to read the source material, the only book I've ever read that caused me to wake up in the middle of the night with a baseball bat in my hands.

3. Hot Fuzz You know you loved Shaun of the Dead and you can't wait for the return of the Edgar Wright, Simon Pegg, Nick Frost triumvirate.

4. 49 Up Roger Ebert's first published piece after his prolonged hospital stay is a sweet conversation with Michael Apted about the most recent entry in his fascinating Up Series, a study of the lives of one generation of English school children as they make their way in the world.

5. Pan's Labyrinth There is so much voice-over in this trailer because the the studio thinks you are stupid and won't realize this movie is in Spanish (not English) until you've already paid for your ticket. Go see this anyway. It looks awesome and if it does well, that will be good reason to green-light Hellboy 2.
